We are a working with a leading healthcare provider in North Cumbria, dedicated to delivering high-quality, compassionate care to our patients. As part of their commitment to excellence, we are looking for a skilled Respiratory/General Medicine Consultant with a specialist interest in lung cancer to join their dynamic and supportive medical team.

As a Respiratory/General Medicine Consultant with a specialist interest in lung cancer, you will play a central role in diagnosing, managing, and treating patients with respiratory conditions, with a particular focus on lung cancer. You will work within a collaborative team, contributing to the development of a comprehensive lung cancer service, and helping drive best practices in patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert clinical leadership in the management of lung cancer and other respiratory conditions, offering high-quality care in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans for patients with lung cancer.
  • Participate in and contribute to lung cancer clinics, MDT meetings, and cancer care pathways, ensuring optimal outcomes for patients.
  • Work closely with colleagues in respiratory medicine and general medicine to manage complex cases, providing specialist input and advice.
  • Support the development of evidence-based guidelines and protocols for the management of lung cancer patients.
  • Lead and participate in the education, training, and mentorship of junior medical staff, promoting continuous learning and development.
  • Collaborate with other specialists, including oncologists, radiologists, and pathologists, to provide holistic care for patients.
  • Contribute to research and audit activities aimed at improving patient care and advancing knowledge in the field of lung cancer.

Key Requirements:

  • Full GMC registration with a license to practice.
  • CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) or equivalent in Respiratory Medicine or General Medicine.
